Stuffed Steak

Ingredients 

 

675g ( 11/2 lbs) rump steak
110g (4oz) mushroomes , finely chopped
30ml (2 tbsp) onion , finely chopped
30g  (1 oz) butter
60ml (4 tbsp) fresh bread crumbs
15ml (1 tbsp) parsley , chopped
Salt and pepper









Directions


1.  Make a pocket in the steak by slicing along one end and through to the centre .

2.  Saute the onions in the butter until they are soft , add the mushrooms and fry gently for 2-3 minutes.

3.  Add breadcrumbs , parsley and seasoning.

4.  Fill the pockets with the stuffing mixture  Sew up the opening or use small skewers to secure.

5.  Place the meat on the wire shelf over the roasting pan.

6. The cooking time is 35- 40 minutes at a temperature of 190 degrees Celsius.

7. Slice on the diagonal to serve .
